The Petroleum Resources Management System, or PRMS, has long been considered the global standard reference for resources and reserves classification and definition. Further clarification and discussion of the principles within the PRMS is provided by a companion document, the Guidelines for Application of the Petroleum Resources Management System, or AG.
Mr. Vanorsdale recently led the updating of the AG (2022), authored the chapter on Evaluation of Petroleum Reserves and Resources, co-authored several other chapters, and contributed toward the updating of the PRMS (2018).
He has authored/co-authored several professional papers on topics including shale gas, coalbed methane, waterflooding, and horizontal drilling.
